Useful information:
The Noordzeekanaal is a canal for seagoing vessels in the Netherlands. It connects the port of Amsterdam in the province of North Holland in a westward direction to the North Sea at IJmuiden. In the 19th century, the Noordzeekanaal was built to facilitate access to the port of Amsterdam for larger ships.
Today, the Noordzeekanaal is an important waterway for the transportation of goods and people, as well as for leisure activities such as boating and fishing.
